I had intended to have this post up last night, but my daughter is waging war on sleep, which makes it very hard to blog! I hate being behind, but whatcha gonna do?
I had the opportunity to do a mani swap with @baboo_does_nails. I had a lot of fun recreating her mani, and it served an extra purpose of supporting the home team today! Go Browns! (although they are already down as I write this, my internal optimist hopes they’ll turn it around!). Here is the finished product:
They came out so fun — I really like them. Here’s what I used:
From left to right: OPI You’re So Vanilla, OPI Toucan Do It If You Try, Mundo de Unas Brown, plastic bag, Cici & Sisi plate, Messy Mansion Stamper, Rica Glossy Glam, OPI Matte Top Coat, Poshe quick dry, Essie Grow Stronger.
I started out with a base of You’re So Vanilla:
This is two coats topped with one coat of Poshe quick dry. Once that was a dry, I set in to use the saran wrap method. This was my first time trying this method, and I was a little worried. It seemed like it would be messy, and I don’t like messy. I put a few drops of Toucan Do It If You Try on a piece of foil, and dabbed my bag into it gently. I dabbed off the excess, and then dabbed it onto my dry nail. Here’s how it looked:
It was easy to do, but I definitely need a little practice at it. I ended up with the polish a bit heavy in many places. I was still a bit concerned about how these were going to turn out, but I kept plugging along. Once they were dry, I stamped using MdU Brown.
This is what they looked like after stamping with one coat of Glossy Glam on to seal in the design and help them dry more quickly. Once they were dry, I topped this with my matte top coat:
They turned out pretty cool! And very fallish. Here was out completed swap:
I love swaps, because they push me to try new techniques or designs. I had a lot of fun with this, and can’t wait for my next one!
Thanks for stopping by!
