Hi there!  Today I’m getting my nails ready for the Super Bowl with some Seattle Seahawks nails!

I decided to watermarble since I’ve finally kinda-sorta figured it out!

Here’s what I used:

From left to right: OPI Nail Envy, OPI Keeping Suzi at Bay, Bear Pawlish Wicked, and Seche.

I started off with two coats of Wicked:

These aren’t top coated.  The formula isn’t as great as on some of her other polishes, but the color payoff is pretty huge.

Once these were dry, I used the Nail Envy and Keeping Suzi at Bay to do a blue/clear watermarble and dipped all of my fingers.  I topped them off with Seche and voila!

I’m really pleased with how these turned out.  They are so fun and perfect for the game!

Where have I been???  Sorry for going AWOL.  I ended up sick, then had some computer issues.  But now both it and I are back up and running.  Plus, I have a ridiculous post coming with plenty of pictures of the mess that is going on while I try to get ready for M Polish’s first release (which has also been eating up a ton of my time)!

But now, I have a super awesome Bestie Twin mani that I did with Dancer!  Do you know Dancer?  You should!  She’s one of my bestiest nail besties and we did this:

We decided to recreate a mani originally done by Sassy Shelly!  Her original creation is on the bottom left of our collage.  It was so fun, bright, and oh-so-very 90’s!  It was a really fun mani to recreate, and this is how I did it:

I used Loreal

I started off like this:

One coat of everything.  Pretty simple!  But to do it again, I probably would have started differently and saved myself some headaches.

Once this was dry, I put down my vinyls:

I ended up straightening out my index vinyls before painting once I realized how crooked they were!  Then I added the next layers of color:

I was fairly pleased with myself at this point.  Vinyls and I have a love-hate relationship, but the ones I got from Twinkled T have been working really well for me.  Since they are a bit thinner, they work with my super curvy nails more easily.

Once the second step was dry, I moved on the the additional details:

On my index, I freehanded the blue (that’s pretty obvious) and the yellow.  I wish I would have done it with vinyls, but I didn’t think that far ahead.  Ditto to the blue on my middle finger, but I also striped in.  It turned out okay, but would have looked better if it was crisp like the yellow.  I added the pink dots on my ring finger and the triangles on my pinky and voila!  Everything was top coated with Seche.

I really adored this mani.  It was really bright and fun.  Here’s how Dancer’s turned out:

Hers was crisper and she did a better job with color selection.  Also, she didn’t forget dots like I did!!

I had a lot of fun with this bestie mani, and no surprise since I was doing it with Dancer.  The day I stumbled into nail nirvana and met Dancer was a lucky day for me.  It is possible we were separated at birth, but certainly aren’t twins, as she has a bone structure I can only dream about.

I think I’ve been very lucky to find so many amazing nail friends.  And especially lucky to find a friend who not only shares a passion for nails and ridiculousness, but also wine, foul language, and puns.  She’s listened to my boo-hooing and is always quick with a witty remark to make me laugh.  I know not everyone in the nail community is as warm and funny, but the world would be a hell of a lot nicer and hilarious with more Dancers dancing around.

Another playoff week, another Packers mani!  This time with watermarbling and glitter placement.  It is gaudy, but full of team spirit!

I’m pretty pleased with how my pinky marble came out.  But the index got a bit muddled.  That’s okay…practice, practice, practice!!

I didn’t take a what-I-used picture, but here’s the list: Butter London Sozzled, Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, Essie Rock at the Top, Essie Protein Base, Seche Vite, OPI My Vampire is Buff.

After I put down a coat of Protein Base, I put down two coats of Sozzled on my middle and rings fingers and one coat of My Vampire is Buff on my index and pinky.  Then I added the latext around my index and pinky for easy clean-up.

For the watermarble, I added drops of Sozzled and Mellow Yellow to the water, used a toothpick to make the design, dipped, then used a q-tip to remove the excess polish from the water.  After I pulled my finger out, I used tweezers to remove the latex and was only left with minimal clean-up around my cuticles.

Once the marble was done, I set in on the glitter placement.  I must have been insane.  I do not have the patience for glitter placement, and I always seem to forget how tedious it is.  I put some Rock at the Top on a piece of foil, and fished out bits of glitter to add in a “G” and “B.”  Once that was added, I topped everything with Seche!

Howdy!  Today I have a semi-successful watermarble to share!  Let me start out by saying that I am absolutely terrible at watermarbles.  Just awful.  But, I was inspired by Pish.Posh.Polish’s recent blog tutorial to give it another whirl.  And, I picked colors based on her recent black and white mani.  Hers was so super classy.  Mine came out a bit more…well…klassie:

Yeah….I got a little carried away.  But that’s okay…I call this a win because I got somthing resembling a watermarble to work!!

I used Zoya Willa, Barielle Going to the Chapel, and vinyls by TwinkledT.

I started with two coats of Going to the Chapel:

As far as white polishes go, this is a pretty good one.

I topped my index and pinky with seche to help them dry faster so they would be ready for the vinyls whenever I got around to them.  Then, I started in on the watermarble.

I added the polish to the water and let it spread.  Then I used a toothpick to create the design.  Here’s what it looked like:

I had the spot I wanted to use all picked out.  Then my dogs bumped into my table, and I was left with this:

Not so great.  So, I started over.  No biggie.  Here’s what it looked like after my first finger:

A total mess.  But under that mess is liquid latex (which is the purple on my ring finger).  Once I was done dipping, I peeled the latex off and was only left with a little to clean up.  Here’s what my two middle fingers looked like after they were both dipped and cleaned:

Not too terribly shabby.  I mean, they don’t look as good as Pish’s, but it is a HUGE improvement over anything I’ve ever been able to pull off before!

Now, if I was classy like Pish, I would have added some black dots to my index and pinky and then put the polish the hell down.  But no.  I love her chevrons so much I just had to do some.

I pulled out my TwinkledT vinyls.  You can check out what she offers here.  I am a really big fan of her vinyls.  They fit my super curvy nails better than traditional vinyls.  Plus, she has some awesome designs.

For this mani, I used the small chevrons.  I placed them, painted Willa over them, then quickly removed them.  End result:

It is a little busy, but hey — I watermarbled!!
