My mother and I are taking the kiddos to the Apple Butter Festival tomorrow. I haven’t been in over a decade, but I remember the smells and tastes like it was yesterday. I am oh-so-excited to go have my fill of delicious food. So, with that in mind, I set out to create an apple inspired mani tonight. Here is what I ended up with:
I am very happy with how these turned out! They are soft and subtle and remind me of a juice apple.
I should note that you may notice that my pictures look different. Yeah. I’m still not happy. I embarked upon lightbox version 3.0 tonight, employing a different light source. The bulbs I had bought would not work with the newly purchased small lights. No idea why, but you can rest assured that many curses were thrown at said bulbs. So, I had to resort to using what I could find in my cupboard. I played with picture a bit to try and get it accurate, but it still seems too dark. Frustrating! But, hubs to the rescue! He is going to buy some bulbs for me tomorrow while I am out with the kiddos, so hopefully there will be only one day of shitty looking pictures!
Anywho…on to the fun stuff! Here is what I used:
(ugh — s, o dark!)
From left to right: Essie Grow Strongr, Poshe quick dry, Mundo de Unas Military Green, HK Girl, Moyou London Fashionista 12, OPI Don’t Talk Bach to Me, OPI Toucan Do It If You Try, OPI Monsooner or Later, Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow.
I started with a coat of Grow Stronger, followed by just one coat of Don’t Talk Bach to Me:
Yeah — looks pretty terrible right now, but just wait!
This is the effect I was going for:
And here is how it turned out:
I really wish my lighting wasn’t so terrible, so you could all see how beautiful it really is! BUT, of course, I wasn’t done…I had to add some stamping! I thought about doing a complex tree with apples hanging from it, but I was just too darn tired. I opted for a straight forward stamp, and I really like how it turned out!
Thanks for stopping by!
